Baker, Entrepreneur, Event Planner
My love for baking and cooking began as a teenager thanks to my grandmother. Every Thanksgiving I would help my grandmother with thanksgiving dinner. One year I asked if I could bake a cake for desert and she said yes. Everyone enjoyed my cake and thereafter every Thanksgiving I would bake a cake. One particular year I decided not to bake and after we finished preparing dinner, my grandmother said the kitchen was all mine. I told her I wasn’t going to bake that year because I didn’t think anyone wanted cake. She insisted that I should make the cake because it was expected after dinner. To my delight, everyone had cake and that was the beginning of my interest in cooking and baking.
My interest in cake pops began in 20213, while planning my house party. I first spotted a cake pop stand in the store and thought this was adorable, I reluctantly purchase it, thinking it would make a great center piece, but was a bit concerned it would look childish. I send a picture to my friend to ask her opinion and she responded that it was cute and would be fun for an adult party. The not so fun part was how to make cake pops! After lots of research, I felt comfortable with the basic techniques of making cake pops. It was fun making the cake pops, but it wasn’t so fun to see half of my pops fell apart. I made a variety of flavors and was able to keep enough of them together for the party. As I handed out my pops as party favors, I was amazed at how much the adults enjoyed them, I then decided to continue to work to perfect making cake pops.
Over the following year, I made them for each holiday, using holiday cake and candy flavors and handed them out to friends, family, and my coworkers to get their feedback. The feedback was amazing. The more I made and gave away, the more everyone was hooked, my coworkers would asked if they could purchase them for their kids and grandkids. Once I perfected the cake pops technique, I made the decision to develop my cake pop business in 2014. Now 2021, seven plus years later and still in business, with a new location, I made the decison to expanded the selection to include other treats. I am very excited about this expansion and hope my treats brings as much joy to your party, as it does for me to make them.
